DUO MAXX Proven to Slow Nitrogen Transformation

With the increase in fertilizer prices we have seen over the past 12 months, it is essential growers protect their 2021 investments. Adding a stabilizer to a dry or liquid fertilizer will help ensure farmers’ nitrogen investment will not go down the drain.

Our DUO MAXX® technology is intended for treatment of incorporated liquid and granular fertilizer blends with N but can also be used on surface-applied P and K. It is a combination of our patented phenolic binding compound, MPPA®, nitrogen stabilizer, and our patented Duo Complex. It also contains the LCN Complex, which is a combination of NBPT, DCD and our Rhizovit® plant extract, designed to slow nitrogen transformation.

See below the latest laboratory test results of the effect of DUO MAXX on preventing ammonia volatilization, N leaching, and runoff.

Effect of DUO MAXX on Ammonia Volatilization

Line charts showing DUO MAXX impacts nitrogen transformation. In three different types of soil, DUO MAXX treated urea prevented nitrogen loss through NH3 volatilization for a longer period of time.

Effect of DUO MAXX on Nitrogen Runoff Events

Bar chart showing DUO MAXX advantage at N lost due to runoff events, when compared to untreated and DAP.

Results of N runoff study comparing no fertilizer (untreated), DAP and DUO MAXX with DAP under laboratory conditions. The numbers on the x-axis represent two simulated rain events of 2L/min for 3 minutes in an automatic spray cabinet. (CMI, 2020)

Effect of DUO MAXX on Nitrogen Leaching

Bar chart showing DUO MAXX advantage on N leaching. When compared to untreated Urea, DUO MAXX presented consistently less nitrate loss from 8 to 40 days after applied.
