Champions in the Field
TIMAC AGRO USA announces 2024 CHAMPIONS in the Field
At TIMAC AGRO USA, we work alongside distributors, ag retail partners, and farmers to push the boundaries of crop performance. Despite the economic and environmental challenges of 2024, our commitment to innovation and excellence remained steadfast.
Today, we proudly recognize the following CHAMPIONS — growers who leveraged TIMAC AGRO technologies to achieve exceptional results in yield contests:
Alex Harrell, Smithville, GA – Soybean World Record, 218.3 bpa
Rodney Harrell, Leesburg, GA – NCGA Corn Contest (Convential Irrigated), 393.8 bpa
Wallace Anderson, Ellijay, GA – NCGA Corn Contest (Convential Non-Irrigated), 323.8 bpa
James W. Hitchcock, Tennille, GA – NCGA Corn Contest (Strip, Min, Mulch, Ridge-Till Irrigated), 321.4 bpa
Jonathan Hitchcock, Tennille, GA – NCGA Corn Contest (No-Till Irrigated), 319.2 bpa
Local but Growing
Supporting Georgia’s growers has always been a key focus for TIMAC AGRO.
“TIMAC AGRO has tremendous ag retail partners, and we are incredibly grateful for their commitment to supporting our products,” said Daniel Stephens, Chief Sales Officer (CSO) of TIMAC AGRO USA.
With our Rainbow Plant Food Facility based in Americus, Georgia, we set out to increase awareness of our new granular NPK technology by working with some of the most accomplished farmers in the region, producers who already operated at a high level and were eager to see if our products could further elevate their yields.
One of those farmers was 2023 soybean world record-holder Alex Harrell, who shared his experience:
“Even just the first year out of the gate, it (BLUE NPK) exceeded my expectations.”
That confidence translated into results. In 2024, Alex shattered his own world record, producing an astonishing 218.3 bpa soybean yield using Timac’s BLUE 5-17-18 ammoniated NPK fertilizer for his pre-plant application.
Taking Corn Yields to the Next Level
The National Corn Growers Association (NCGA) Yield Contest was another proving ground where Timac Agro’s technologies made an impact. Eight-time Georgia Dryland Corn Champion Wallace Anderson credited his success to the support of TIMAC AGRO’s team, saying:
“Without all of the team at TIMAC AGRO, it would have never happened.”
For Anderson, who relies on chicken litter as the foundation of his NPK program, maximizing nutrient efficiency is critical to reaching top-tier yields. Michael Pisciotta, TIMAC AGRO’s Director of Agronomy (Southern US), emphasized the journey Anderson has taken:
“Wallace and the ag retail agronomists we work with every year have played a key role in increasing his competition entry from 283.5 bpa in 2018 to 323.8 bpa in 2024.”
To achieve this, Anderson incorporated multiple Timac Agro technologies, including:
- FERTIACTYL – applied in-furrow at planting
- FERTILEADER – applied at R2 with fungicide
Beyond Anderson’s success, BLUE NPK also played a pivotal role for other NCGA Corn Contest competitors, including Rodney Harrell (Leesburg, GA) and brothers James and Jonathan Hitchcock (Tennille, GA). Each of these top-tier growers utilized BLUE 5-17-18 as their pre-plant fertilizer in banded and strip-till applications.
Pisciotta expressed his excitement for what lies ahead:
“It’s encouraging to see some of Georgia’s best farmers—Mr. Rodney Harrell, James Hitchcock, and Jonathan Hitchcock—adopting ammoniated BLUE NPK in high-efficiency fertilizer placements. Their results speak for themselves.”
Expanding the BLUE NPK Footprint
Launched in July 2023, BLUE NPK became TIMAC AGRO’s first NPK technology integrated into production at the Rainbow Plant Food facility. 2024 marked the first full season in which it was evaluated, taken to harvest, and ultimately validated by record-breaking results.
Looking ahead, CSO Daniel Stephens shared his vision for expansion:
“The success we’ve seen in Georgia in 2024 gives me confidence that we can continue to grow adoption in surrounding states, including Alabama, North Carolina, South Carolina, and Tennessee in 2025. Our goal is to work alongside our distribution and ag retail partners to extend our reach and establish BLUE NPK as a game-changer across the U.S.”
